Alghero is the most enchanting resort along the Riviera del Corallo (Coral Riviera).
Its coastline plays host to numerous solitary inlets, small bays that conceal beaches fringed by thick pine forests, and jagged rocks lapped by the emerald-green waves.
The historical centre of the city is one of the most interesting on the island of Sardinia: dating from around 1300, it is characterised by the Gothic-Aragonese architecture of its palaces, bastions, towers and bell towers, all of which betray the city's Catalan origins.
